HOW FAR IN THE OPEN OCEAN WE WILL GO AND HOW MUCH TIME WILL TAKE TO GET THERE?
Since we have lots of good spots both in Pacific and Sea of Cortez, It may vary from time to time, but for our regular half day tours it usually takes around 30 minutes, depending on the weather conditions. We never lose sight from shore. During our full day tour or special, long range expeditions to get in the spots takes between 1hour 45 minutes and 2 hours and half
HOW MUCH TIME DO WE HAVE TO WAIT TO SEE SHARKS ONCE WE ARRIVE TO THE SIGHTING SPOT?
This is a quite unpredictable factor, it depends on the ocean current, the wind and other oceanographic variables, as well as the proximity to shark crossing routes. During the high sharks season (JAN-AUG) between 1 minutes and 1 hours, sometimes the sharks are already in the spots and we don’t even have to chum. During the other months, when the water temperature raise over 83F, around 2 hours. We have several sighting spots, and we always go in the best one!
HOW LONG I CAN STAY UNDERWATER WITH SHARKS?
We usually have unlimited time for snorkeling with sharks, but it depends from sharks behaviour.
YOU FEED THE SHARKS DURING THE TOUR?
Our tour is NOT a shark feeding tour, we keep sharks behaviour natural and relaxed as possible. The chum is in a “chum box” closed with no free access for the sharks. We use a liquid mixture of fish oil and fish blood to attract pelagic sharks. We use only fish caught in the area (skipjacks, mackerel, tuna) with no industrial/intensive practices. We buy fish from small local fishing families, we don’t buy from commercial fishing companies!
DURING A SNORKELLING TOUR I HAVE TO BE A EXCELLENT FREE DIVER OR A VERY GOOD SWIMMER TO ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE?
Absolutely NOT! Snorkeling with sharks is a safe, easy and amazing activity. You don’t need to be a good swimmer or free diver, you just have to float and watch the show! Less you swim, longer you can stay with sharks. We also have life jackets available in the boat.
CAN I SEE SHARKS UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL WHILE DOING SNORKELLING?
Yes! The action is close by the surface, you can see their dorsal fins outside the water! You don’t need to dive
DURING THE TOUR I CAN SEE ONLY SHARKS?
No, everything can show up, expect the unexpected! Striped Marlin, dolphins, sea turtles mantas, school of mobiles, humpback whales etc!
CAN I SEE SHARKS FROM THE BOAT WITHOUT GETTING IN THE WATER?
Yes, and it’s so much fun! All pelagic sharks swim close by the surface following our chum line. They usually come very close to the boat and stay around us for a long time!
HOW MANY OTHER DIVE BOATS ARE IN THE SHARK DIVE SPOTS?
Only us!! We are the only shark diving company in Los Cabos and we discover most of our spots, so we are the only one with the right coordinates!! No other divers or dive boats around us guaranteed
WHAT LEVEL OF DIVE CERTIFCATION DO I NEED?
For snorkeling is NOT required any certification. For scuba diving (with tanks) we require an Advanced Scuba Diving certification.
